With some $24bn of Chinese project investment in the pipeline and due to materialise in the next few years , Kazakhstan is expecting its FDI total for 2016 to hit $10bn, almost double last year’s figure when investment inflows dropped back by 30%. “Kazakhstan has attracted $2.7 bn of foreign direct investment [in Q1],” Kaznex Invest Chairman Borisbiy Zhangurazov said this week. “This is much higher than in 2015 and is on par with 2014 and 2013.”
